Create distinctive page titles that match the content and help customers understand your offer.
Give each page its own promise
Start with what the page genuinely offers. A page about CRM development needs a different title from a general web development page. Write a one-sentence description of the customer need first, then reduce it to a concise title. Avoid adding locations or capabilities that the page does not actually support.
Keep titles and headings aligned
Google can use several sources when generating a title link, including the title element and prominent page text. Write descriptive titles without repetitive keyword lists. Make the main heading consistent with the page subject so visitors see the information they expected after clicking.
Use a simple review worksheet
List each important URL, its current title, main heading and intended audience. Flag duplicate titles and vague phrases such as Welcome or Our Solutions when they do not explain the offer. Ask someone outside the project to read the proposed title and say what they expect to find.
Evaluate changes patiently
Update a small group of related pages and keep a dated record. Review search performance with the page content and enquiry quality rather than assuming a title alone explains every change. Revisit titles when services change, and remove old years or outdated offers that no longer describe the page.
